Ballwin - Noting her commitment to the district where she grew up, raised her family and resides, Ann Wagner today announced her support for Congressional term limits and signed the pledge offered by the organization, U.S. Term Limits. “I believe that the voters elect citizen legislators, not career politicians who run for one office one election and a different office in another election just to find a job,” said Ann Wagner, a native of Missouri’s 2ndCongressional District. “Washington is broken and decaying with politicians who have become too cozy with the status quo and their political stature. That is why I support a Constitutional Amendment that limits members of the United States House to three terms and members of the United States Senate to two terms. I feel, as a first-time candidate for public office, that it is the right thing to do for the district and country.” Here is the text of the U.S. Term Limits pledge which can be found at www.termlimits.org:
Whereas, Congress ratings are at an historic low point; and
Whereas, the American people no longer trust career politicians who run for reelection over and over again; and
Whereas, members of Congress seem to care more about pandering to campaign contributors and special interest groups than representing their constituents; and
Whereas, election rules and government power have been perverted so that it has become almost impossible for the people to vote their elected representatives out of office; and
Whereas, 83% of the American people support term limits;
Now Therefore Be It Resolved, that I do hereby call on you to publicly support a two-term limit on members of The Senate and a three-term limit on members of The House.
Ann grew up, attended school, worked, raised her family and lives in Missouri’s 2nd Congressional District. Ann was Chairman of Roy Blunt’s campaign for United States Senate in 2010, Republican National Committee Co-Chairman from 2001-2005 and served as Lafayette Township committeewoman and Chairman of the Missouri Republican Party.To learn more about Ann and her campaign please visit www.annwagner.com and visit her on Facebook and become a follower on Twitter.
