Ann Wagner Statement on the 10-Year Remembrance of Sept 11th
Ballwin - Ann Wagner today issued the following statement on the 10-year remembrance of September 11th:
"Today is a solemn day of reflection as we remember the 2,977 innocent victims and heroes who were murdered in a cowardly act of terror in New York City, Washington, D.C. and Shanksville, Pennsylvania on September 11th, 2001. America will never forget the heroism of our first responders who ran into the chaos to save others - 341 firefighters, 2 paramedics and the 60 New York City and Port Authority Police officers.
America has enemies, radical Islamic extremists, who want to destroy our way of life and impose on us their radical views of the world. We must always stay vigilant and committed to hitting them before they hit us.
One decade later, the world is no less dangerous and we will never be the same. We cannot let the passage of time weaken our resolve to prosecute and win the war against terror. As a mother of three, I want my children to live in a world that is safer and more prosperous. And as the mother of a West Point graduate, serving in our armed forces, I want to ensure that America's military men and women have everything they need to defend and protect our freedom.
We must heed the lessons of September 11th every day by supporting a strong defense, a strong foreign policy and a belief in American exceptionalism. America remains the standard-bearer of freedom and liberty across the world. God Bless the United States of America."
Ann Wagner will be attending the following events to commemorate the 10th anniversary of September 11th:
