St. Louis - New Jersey Governor Chris Christie today endorsed Ann Wagner for U.S. Congress, calling her "the real deal" and praising her work ethic, conservative values and integrity. “Ann’s the real deal. We need strong and clear voices like Ann Wagner on the floor of the House of Representatives,” Governor Christie said. “This will be good for Missouri, this will be good for America if you send somebody with her character, her integrity, her intellect and her passion to the United States Congress. I will do whatever I can over the next thirteen months to ensure her campaign is a successful one.” Speaking about how Ann Wagner will take on President Obama and his plan to raise taxes on Americans, Governor Christie stated that Ann Wagner “won’t let him get away with it.” "Governor Christie is a fighter. And it takes one to know one," said Ann Wagner. "He's not afraid to take on the big problems, regardless of how big the fight will be. I'm honored to have him here in my hometown district to help and support my campaign to serve the people of Missouri's Second Congressional District." “America’s greatness comes not from the ground we stand on, but from the values we share as a people. And those values are precious, they’re fragile, and the scary thing is, we have come to understand that those values are capable of slipping away. That’s why I am running for Congress – to protect and to preserve our conservative values.” Governor Christie sent out a call to all conservatives in Missouri’s 2nd Congressional district: “Nothing is more powerful than one neighbor one friend, one business associate to another looking someone in the eye and saying, ‘I know her, I trust her and you can trust her too.’ That’s powerful.” Chris Christie was elected governor in 2009 becoming the first Republican to win a statewide election in New Jersey in 12 years. Previously Christie was U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey serving in the Justice Department led by then-U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft. As the chief federal law enforcement officer in New Jersey, Christie earned praise from leaders in both parties and drew national attention for his efforts in battling political corruption, corporate crime, human trafficking, gangs, terrorism and polluters. Ann grew up, attended school, worked, raised her family and currently lives in Missouri’s 2nd Congressional District. Last week Ann announced the endorsement of former UN Ambassador, John Bolton; his first of the 2012 election cycle.
