Chesterfield – Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee appeared before at least 400 supporters in Chesterfield today in support of Ann Wagner’s campaign in Missouri’s 2nd Congressional District. Governor Huckabee addressed the crowd for fifteen minutes delivering a positive message regarding Ann’s conservative leadership and need for her energy and strength in Washington.

“Some people, depending on the political mood of a particular election, will take a position because they think that’s what the voters want to hear,” said Huckabee. “But with Ann, the issues that Ann stands for and believes in are the issues that she has always stood for. I wouldn’t be here today if Ann didn’t have a strong commitment that the family is the most basic and important form of government in the country.”

“Ann understands what it takes to be a part of a small business operation. She understands what it means to be a wife and a mother and raise kids,” said Huckabee. “She is also a grassroots political organizer who has never ever been far from the front lines of the grassroots movement. Because, like the grassroots, Ann believes in limited government, local government, and a government that respects the sanctity of human life from conception.”

“When Ann gets to Congress, and notice I didn’t say if I said when, because I am confident with the enthusiasm and crowd in this room, that this district will get the representation they deserve from someone who has grown up here, is from here, has served here,” said Huckabee. “You know her; she is one of you, and all the more reason that she will be able to represent the people of this district because she is of this district. She will vote how she has always served – consistent with the values that we all know her for.”

Ann Wagner set the stage today by addressing the crowd of grassroots activists about her priorities for Congress.

“The greatest gift of being an American, and the very essence of liberty, is that we have the opportunity to get up every morning and reshape our future,” said Ann Wagner to the crowd of over 400 grassroots supporters. “I’m asking you to send me to Washington to be your strong, effective, conservative voice in Congress. To stop the spending spree, cut up the government’s credit card, reduce burdensome regulations that kill jobs, repeal Obamacare and defend our conservative values.”

“It means so much to me that Governor Huckabee has appeared here today for our campaign,” said Wagner. “One of the things I admire most about Gov. Huckabee is that politics is never about him, for Governor Huckabee it is about America. Today he continues to work hard to elect conservative Republicans across the country just like me. And he has an army of activists all over the country, just like you! I look forward to fighting for America right alongside the governor in Washington.”
